Lab Circuits reinforces its commitment to HDI circuit boards with a new etching process.
The Lab Circuits etching department has been equipped with a new horizontal line for the alkaline etching of printed circuit boards. The equipment, almost 16 metres in length and with a useful width of 650 mm, has been manufactured by the well-known Italian company WISE in accordance with highly demanding specifications for fine line etching. The line executes three successive processes: the removal of the dry film, the copper etching itself, and the subsequent removal of the tin used as a reserve. The multiple automatic measurement and addition mechanisms provide the equipment with great capacity and operating stability.
In the words of Xavier Angel, technical director at Lab Circuits; “The fine line etching capabilities of this new equipment will enable us to reliably continue to advance in the manufacture of the high-density, high-integration HDI circuit boards the market increasingly demands of us. As such, the implementation of the WISE line is yet another major step in the technological evolution we strive for”.
